Treatment Room

The nurse is available from 8.30am to 12 noon to carry out blood tests, dressings, removal of stitches, vaccinations etc. The nurse will also advise on other matters relating to health promotion.

Health Promotion Clinics

We offer a number of special clinics at the surgery for Asthma, Diabetes, Ischaemic Heart Disease, Hypertension, Smoking Cessation and Warfarin. These are run by the practice nurse, from 3pm to 5.30pm. We usually invite patients whom we feel would benefit but if you feel we have missed you, please ask at reception

Antenatal Clinic

Pregnancy is an especially exciting time and we hope that you will attend our antenatal clinic. The practice midwife, Ann Lenaghan is here on a Tuesday morning and review appointments are held on Thursday afternoons.

Children's Clinic

Our children’s clinic is on Tuesday afternoon, immunisations and 6 week assessments are done between 2.00pm and 3.30pm. 

Special Interests

Dr Aidan Thompson has a particular interest in Rheumatology and Cardiology.

Dr Grainne Bonnar has a particular interest in Paediatrics.

Dr Domhnall MacAuley has a particular interest in Sports Medicine, Orthopaedics and Rheumatology and Minor Surgery.

We perform some minor surgical procedures at the surgery so that you do not have to attend hospital unnecessarily.

Travel Advice

If you are travelling abroad, you should visit the practice nurse to find out which vaccines you need. Ideally this should be as long as possible before you travel. Some vaccines need to be given a few weeks before travelling to ensure full effectiveness. Some vaccinations are provided free under the NHS.

Other vaccinations and anti-malarial drugs need a private prescription, for which there will be a charge of £10. Consultations about travel immunisations may require an appointment. Please aks at reception. To ensure that you receive the best possible travel advice, please give us full details of your travel plans including dates, destinations, stopovers, type of accomodation and elevation above sea-level. 

Yellow Fever Centre

The practice is now registered as an official provider of Yellow Fever vaccinations. If you require a yellow fever vaccination, ring us to make an appointment, 3 to 4 weeks before you travel. Immunity only occurs 10 days after your vaccination. The fee is £50. This includes the cost of the vaccine, administration and a yellow fever certificate. You do not need to be registered with the practice.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible  - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations.  These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine.  Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Most travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge.  This is because travel vaccination is not included in the services provided by the NHS and therefore is a chargeable service.
